Joyce Ann Blakey was born on February 10, 1948 In Cleveland, Ohio to the late Leoma and Johnnie B. Marlow. Joyce departed this life on February 1, 2024.
Joyce was educated in the Cleveland, Ohio school systems. Joyce confirmed her faith in Christ at an early age.
Joyce was a woman of many talents. She was a cosmetologist & also a teacher of cosmetology. She was a seamstress who made beautiful clothes, and could crochet anything you would want. Joyce was also an excellent cook and baker, but most of all she was a singer who sang in The Sounds of the Sixties, The Tra La Las, and the famous Hesitations who was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame. Joyce was committed to her family, and always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memories, Husband Arthur Blakey, Daughter She’a Washington (Thaddeus), Son Alonzia Murphy (Emmanuella), Tamika and Darris McKinney, Develand, Stacy, Velma, Lamont, Cindy, Demetrious, and Ladine Blakey. Siblings, Shirley Colter, and Cecil Marlow. Grandchildren Sha’Londa, Derrick, Jerry, Alonzia, Virgil, Jy’Wayne, She’a, Deborah, Shannon, and many more grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memories best friends Sandy Bass, Mary Stark and many more relatives and friends. Preceded her in death her parents Johnnie B. Marlow and Leoma Marlow. Siblings Brenda, Teresa, Johnnie, and Edward Marlow. Joyce you will be truly missed, but will live in our hearts forever.
