Joyce Elaine Minter was born on November 24, 1956, to the late Leo Sr. and Ophelia Minter. She was the fourth of six children: Leo Jr., Arthur (deceased), Linda (Dave), Michael (deceased), and Bonnie.
Joyce graduated from Glenville High School in 1974 and worked at various nursing facilities before beginning her career at the Post Office in 1985, where she made numerous lifelong friends. A dedicated and hardworking individual with a strong work ethic, Joyce devoted over 30 years of service to the Post Office before retiring.
In retirement, Joyce was able to enjoy her favorite pastimes, including traveling, going on cruises, attending concerts, and visiting casinos with her fiancé, Jim. She also had a passion for shopping and accessorizing, known for her impeccable fashion sense—she never left home without looking her best.
Joyce was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. Though she did not have children of her own, she shared a special bond with her nieces and nephews. A woman of deep faith, Joyce became a devoted worshipper at New Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she found comfort and community in her spiritual journey. Her faith remained a source of strength, guiding her through life’s challenges with grace and resilience. In 2023, Joyce fell ill but fought courageously until the Lord called her home.
We love and miss you, but now you can rest.
