Juanita Johnson answered the call from this life on Sunday March 15, 2026. She was born April 30, 1938, to the union of Malachi and Irene (Patterson) Webb in West Point, MS. Juanita married her childhood sweetheart Isiah Johnson Jr. on June 26, 1955. Shortly after, Juanita conceived Bettie and Isiah III and relocated to St. Louis, IL where they stay for a short time.
Juanita’s brother John “JW” Webb sent word that he moved his family to Ohio and invited them to join them. Shortly after their arrival they joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board for over 40 years. Juanita worked at various jobs until she was hired at Green Lawn Nursing Home in Mentor, Ohio. She worked there for 33 years. During her time there she mentored young ladies that was going into the nursing field. After she retired Juanita volunteered at the Salvation Army along with her friends Sis. Rosie Fox and Sis. Earlene Mathews. After they would serve, they enjoyed walking down at the Recreation Park.
Juanita was a people person. She always said that she didn’t meet “No strangers”. Like her husband, she was big on family. Her grandchildren loved hanging out at “Grannies house”. Having a big family draws a lot of kids so 189 Prospect was a popular place to hang out back in the day. She opened up her home to many of her children’s friends. She also loved going to garage and yard sales. She was an expert at getting people to lower the already low price 😊. She always looked forward to our Annual Labor Day Family and Friends picnic which she helped organize. She also enjoyed hosting and going to our epic Family Reunions. Juanita loved to dance. Throw on some Al Green and Joe Simon and it was on!!
