Judith Ann Jerels also known as “Mickey” gained her wings on Tuesday, January 8, 2020, after battling lung cancer. She departed this earthly life at home surrounded by loved ones. She was the second born of five children to the late Mary Jo Johnson and James Williams Jr. and Stepfather, Earl Johnson. She attended South High School in Akron, OH in 1968, where she met the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Thomas L. Jerels. From their union was born Thomas Lamar Jerels, Tonya L. Wilson, and Kimberly A. Jerels. She spent her life spreading love everywhere she went. She retired from Akron University in 2015, where she was a devoted worker. She spent her life being a great mother, loving wife, an outstanding grandmother, friend, a daughter, and many more other exceptional roles in life. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, always willing to get out there and play a game with the kids. She would have sleepovers getting all the kids and many adults to hop in their PJ’s, grab some popcorn, and camp out in the living room. She leaves behind fond memories of the holidays in everyone’s heart; leaving smells from the kitchen many noses will miss. She made feeding her family the main priority in her life. She was a Godly, kind and thoughtful woman, known for her shopping and fishing. She was good at finding a deal and catching bass (fish). She enjoyed her family and always laughed over fond memories with brothers Timothy (Francis) Williams, Michael Williams, sister, Diana Williams, and best friend/cousin, Phyllis Poole. She will be remembered for all the loving memories and all the help she offered to everyone in her life while raising her three children.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Walker Williams, mother, Mary Jo Williams-Johnson, brother, Charles Williams, and stepfather, Earl Johnson.
She leaves to treasure her memory her loving husband, Thomas L. Jerels; children, Thomas Lamar (Nora) Jerels, Tonya (Keith) Wilson, and Kimberly Jerels; sister, Diana Williams; brothers, Timothy (Francis) Williams, Michael Williams; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
