In Loving Memory of Julia Mae Smith
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Julia Mae Smith, who departed this earthly life peacefully at home on November 29, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on May 17, 1941, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, Julia was the cherished daughter of Willie James Simpson and Beauty Mae Jones.
She was the beloved wife of 65 years to John Smith, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith. Julia leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Lottie Mae Smith and Yvette Smith, as well as her grandchildren: Marquis Smith, Toreia Smith, Devin Smith, Waddell Smith, Quasohn Smith, Juantaviyan Smith, Daejamoni Love, Ja’karriyon Thompson, Ma’kilyah Thompson, Braylon Thompson, and the late Trayviyon Smith. She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended relatives who will carry her spirit forward.
Julia is survived by her siblings Earl C. Simpson and Delois Robinson, and fondly remembered by her late brothers and sisters Willie James Simpson, Lattie Ree Skipper, Pinkie Kirksey, Daniel Simpson, Spergeon Simpson, and Robert Simpson.
Known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family, Julia dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked tirelessly for over 61 years, always ensuring her loved ones were nurtured and supported. She found joy in gardening, cooking, visiting the casino, and most of all fishing with her brothers and sisters.
Julia Mae Smith’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and devotion. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
