A Homegoing Celebration for June Carol Denisiak

June Carol Denisiak, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, service, and family. Born on August 24, 1939, in Columbiana, Alabama, she later moved to Akron, Ohio, where she grew into the compassionate and caring woman who would touch countless lives. Throughout her life, June was known for her kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering compassion.
June was married to Charles Denisiak whom she adored for more than 40 years. Together, they built a loving home, created cherished memories, and established a family legacy that will endure for generations.
Beyond her devotion to family, June was a founding member of the Emeralds Civic and Social Club. For more than fifty years, she remained an active and dedicated member of the organization. June was regarded as one of the mothers of the Emeralds and played an instrumental role in its foundation and growth. Among her Emerald sisters, she was affectionately known as the one who remembered everything—the keeper of memories, traditions, and stories. Her warmth, wisdom, and caring spirit made her beloved by all who knew her.
June was also a devoted member of Phillips Chapel C. M. E. Church where she faithfully served in the food pantry ministry. She was considered a church mother whose caring presence, encouragement, and service reflected her deep faith and love for others.
June will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous heart, and her remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, wisdom, and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, church family, and her beloved Emerald sisters. The love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the example she set will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.

Her beloved husband, Charles Denisiak; her son, Corey Denisiak; her mother, Louise Knight Pickett; her father, Curtis Washington; her brother, Harold Washington; her aunt, Lottie Averette Scott; and her uncle, Clarence Averette.
Cherishing Her Memory
June leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Dale Denisiak (Maria) and Monique Banks (Melvin), who were a constant source of pride and joy throughout her life.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Camesha, Chantelle, Katlyn, and Kourtney, and a devoted great-grandmother to Natorey and Imani, whose presence brought her immeasurable happiness and pride.
