The Lord blessed Phyllis Walker with the birth of Justin Lee Walker on May 24, 1986, in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
Justin accepted Christ at an early age and as a child, he loved being baptized. He was passionate about the gospel of Christ and loved reading the bible and other scholarly books to increase his knowledge. The more he learned, the more he shared as he sought to help save the souls of those he encountered. Justin firmly believed the devil sought to attack the mind by stating “you are no saint”, however, through his relationship with Christ he responded with “well, if I am not, I am a sinner and Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.” As such, he believed and supported his church’s mission statement, which is to “EFFECTIVELY AFFECT THE WORLD.” He was Burning Bush strong always as he loved his church.
Younger in life, he attended Akron Public Schools, including Robinson Elementary, Goodyear Middle School, and East High. During his high school career, he excelled academically and in football, which eventually led him to transfer to St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Justin went on to attend Walsh University on a full-ride football scholarship.
Justin had a love for cooking, spending time with his family, and caring for his mother. You could always count on him to make you laugh with his quick wit or be that protector if need be. He was an entrepreneur in many ways and loved to put his knowledge, gifts, and talents to work. For example, Justin’s Wing Machine served some of the best chicken and waffles in the city and he was one of the founders of Hibachi Express. He later chose to sell Hibachi Express but the next time you dine there be sure to remember the mastermind of it all.
Justin had an extremely special bond with his older sister/second mom, Josha, and his niece Justice, who was named after him.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Cora Walker, his Godmother Ramona “Turkey” Dingle, and Uncle Levon Walter Lewis.
He is survived by his children, Saint-Michael and Phoenix Walker; mother Phyllis Walker; sister Josha Walker; nieces, Justice and Legacy Walker; uncle Harold, uncle Ricky (Cherie) Day; special cousins, Kandice (Darrel) Williams, Janae and Jaquez Jones; loving Christ-given brothers, Preston Sims and Justin Dingle; and his devoted friend since childhood, Princess Pointer (mother of Saint-Michael). He also leaves a host of friends and relatives.
From Justin’s heart to yours, remember religion does not save you, change you, heal you, or set you free — JESUS DOES!!!
