On January 13, 1966, Evangelist Karen Lolita Dunbar was born to mother, Hermin Brown and father, Benitto Dunbar.
Karen grew up in Stokes Hall St. Thomas, Jamaica. She completed her secondary education at Stokes Hall Secondary High School. While in high school, her areas of interest were Home Economics, Food, and Nutrition.
In 1983, Karen met and fell in love with Vinroy, to this union five beautiful children were born; three girls and two boys: Leon, Tasinena, Taviann, Tamasha, and Tashekia – whom she loved, cherished, and adored deeply.
Shortly after Karen started her journey with God and was baptized, she built such a strong relationship with God that her faith and trust in Him were unbreakable. As such, she encouraged her children, family members, and peers to have a relationship with God.
In 1998, Karen migrated to the United States, where she has lived for 24 years. She worked at a factory as an inspector. Karen was loved and adored by her co-workers, church sisters and brothers – everyone she met. It was her love, care, joy, forgiving heart, and compassion that drew people near her.
Karen had a passion for cooking, ministering to others, and dancing – despite her battle with cancer, it did not stop her from dancing. “Dance floor here I come,” she would say forgetting about her sickness. Only to say, “Wow, my legs!” while she kept on going.
