Katherine D. Collier passed away on January 23, 2024 at home with loved ones after a difficult battle with cancer. She accepted Jesus Christ at a young age. She frequently attended St. Andrew Baptist Church and later attended Beautiful Gates Ministry Church where Pastor Hosea McGill presided. She was an avid believer in Christ and accepted the fate that she was given with her sickness.
Katherine was born on October 5, 1966 to Eugenia Collier and Ben Martin Jr. in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her education at Shaw High School and with her beautiful voice was a member of the choir. She worked for Executive Caterers and at a young age she worked for a daycare facility.
In 2002, she married William Patterson in Cleveland, Ohio where they both attended Beautiful Gates Ministry and joined the choir there.
Katherine loved cooking, enjoyed spending time with family, and lived for her grandchildren.
Katherine was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Margie Collier, her father Ben Martin Jr., and her paternal grandparents Ben and Frances Martin, along with a host of other family members.
Katherine was survived by her mother Eugenia (Qaid Ali), brothers Dimitros and Paul, daughters Mercedes and Angela, sons Robert, Antwane, and bobby, sisters Alice, Toni, and Michelle, sister-in-law Charletha Patterson, grand children Pleasant, Kaycee, Amir, Shaniya, Harmony, Rakail, Dwayne, Antwane Jr., Trevon, Anasia, Gabriella, Mariah, Dashaun, and Aiden, special friends Lavinia (Vern), Gretta, Donna, Trina, and Kyshia, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Katherine’s memory, legacy, and love will always be cherished by all who knew her.
