Kayla Brianna Ray

With profound sorrow and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Kayla Brianna Ray, who departed this life suddenly and unexpectedly on July 4, 2026, at the age of 23.

Born on August 2, 2002, Kayla was a precious gift from God whose life radiated joy, love, and light. Born with Down syndrome, she embraced life with a beautiful spirit that touched the hearts of everyone privileged to know her. Her infectious smile, gentle nature, and genuine love for others made her a blessing to family, friends, and all whose lives she encountered.

Kayla was truly a beautiful soul—an angel from God whose presence reminded others of the beauty found in unconditional love, innocence, and faith. She was a spiritual believer in Jesus Christ, and her life reflected kindness, compassion, and a heart that brought comfort and happiness to those around her.

A proud graduate of Orange High School’s Class of 2022, Kayla celebrated every milestone with determination and enthusiasm. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and found joy in the people and experiences that surrounded her.

One of the greatest loves of Kayla’s life was her beloved Yorkshire Terrier support dog, Jewel, affectionately known as “JewJew.” Since JewJew became part of her life in 2019, the two shared an extraordinary bond. They were inseparable companions, providing one another with comfort, unconditional love, and countless treasured memories.

Kayla leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted mother, Lacresha Ray; her loving brothers, Martinez Ray and Kevin Mahone; her beloved grandmother, Irma Newton; her faithful companion, JewJew; along with a host of relatives, friends, neighbors, caregivers, classmates, and all whose lives were enriched by her loving spirit.

Although her time with us was far too brief, Kayla’s legacy is one of joy, resilience, faith, and unconditional love. She taught those around her to celebrate every moment, love without limits, and find beauty every day.

While our hearts grieve her sudden absence, we rejoice in knowing that she is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will forever remain in our hearts.
