Keith Wayne Burrell was born on February 25, 1960, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and departed this earthly life on November 28, 2019, in Akron, OH, at the age of 59.
Wayne graduated from high school and went on to serve in the Army, where he served with honors. Wayne was employed at Thermo-Rite for 10-plus years until the time of his illness.
He enjoyed cooking, playing basketball, fishing, watching TV and hanging out with family and friends. He was the life of the party or whatever event that was taking place. Everyone knew that when he was around, they were going to get a good laugh till you were in tears. A lot of people said he reminded them of the comedian, Bernie Mac. He always had something to say, no matter who you were. Wherever he was, he would say what he meant and mean what he said. In other words, he had no filter at all. He was also known to dress to impress; you could not tell him anything. He would make a grand entrance with his swag and stop, look, smile and do a pose and say, “I look good, don’t I?.” That’s how he got the nickname “Jerome” from the show “Martin.”
He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody at any given time. As many might know by now, he was a standup guy. He was the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. To know him was to love him.
He was preceded in death by son, Tavaris Wallace; mother, Bessie Burrell; sister Melinda Burrell-Prince; brother, Curtis Burrell all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; aunt, Princess Rhome, and cousin, Kenny Rhome of Akron, OH.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Georgia Burrell, LaChanda Wallace of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kaprice Allen and Dasiza Bell; sons, Derrick Wallace, Frank Wallace of Tuscaloosa Alabama and Eric Allen; sister, Joyce Burrell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; brothers, Kelvin Burrell and Bobby Burrell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; cousin Lynesa Buchanan; nephew, Darnell Allen; 8 grandchildren; ex-wife, Brenda Burrell-Shackleford; friends, Mark Tucker, Calvin Valerie, David Sadler and Carla Langston; extended family, the Allen family and other family members and friends.
