Daddy, I just watched your service for the first time. I couldn't bare to bring myself to come inside the service to see you laying there prepared to go to your final resting place. I want to remember you as you were prior to your death when you were a perfect bill of health, laughing & smiling all the time as usual. The weeks leading up to your final sleep was hard and I had already been missing you like crazy. I'll never forget the very last time you called me from the hospital & told me that you loved me & you just wanted the doctors to leave you alone. It was hard because in that moment I knew you were tired & you were ready. Some how I knew you wasn't coming back home to me. It's still hard believing your not here because your bedroom was right across the hall from mines. I knew you like clock work even down to the exact time that you would get up during the night just to go to the restroom. I would always be up waiting simply to ask are you okay & did you need anything. I miss our long conversations or just watching movies together while talking across the hallway to each other "Did you see that?!?!? Or turn to this station, you've gotta see this"! I miss you being in the classroom with me and the kids everyday during remote distant learning watching me teach and interact with them. And even the times when their Zoom sessions would get hacked and like only you can say "That child need their buns warmed"! Not only are you my daddy but you were my buddy, friend, confidante, voice of reason, my daily constant. On days that weren't so good in only the voice that you could you say "Kim, don't worry about it, things are gonna get better." I miss you so bad, the laughs we shared, the stories you told, how you played constantly with my boys & chastised them when they got out of line (Juicey too as you called her), when Mike with his loud mouth got to yelling at the sports games & you would just simply smile and chuckle. I wish you could've stayed with me if only for just a little while longer but I understand that you were tired; but most of all you missed my momma. I cry & grieve as a daughter who has lost her daddy but I'm happy that you have earned your heavenly wings & your suffering is over. I know that you, momma, Peanut, Fred, & Nobie are now my guardian angels watching over me & you all will be waiting with open arms to welcome me into my heavenly home when it's my time to transition from my earthly home. I love you beyond death & I'll see you when I get there, Kim
