Kenneth Richard O’Neil, age 77, of Ravenna, Ohio passed away quietly on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, after an extended illness.
Kenny was born February 14, 1947, in Bedford, Ohio to Albert (Peanut) O’Neil and Essie Mae Moore. He attended Ravenna High School. After leaving high school, he joined the United States Army.
Kenny was employed by the Container Corporation in Ravenna, Ohio as well as GenCorp Polymer in Mogadore, Ohio.
He had a unique love for all his children and loved to boast and brag about how many brothers and sister he has. Kenny’s most cherished gift was being a wonderful grandfather; his face would light up when any one of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren would walk in a room!
Some of his favorite pastimes were listening to music (from his boom-box he had in the kitchen) as well as sitting at the dining room table watching his Little Television. He loved traveling – Kentucky for the Derby, the Jazz Festival, and he attended the Hawaii Pro-Bowl. Kenny loved to have a good time and share good “Stories.”
Kenny was a Mason, member of the Evergreen 101, Consistory, Royal Arch, Eastern Star, Al-Kaf and 1295 Club.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Albert O’Neil and Essie Mae Moore; his loving wife of 28 years, Druella; his brothers Harold Moore, Bruce, and Lester O’Neil.
Kenneth is survived by his children, LaChon Jackson, Lavelle Frost, Kenneth R. (DeWayne) O’Neil II, Stephanie (Christian) Smith, Michael D. O’Neil, Donyale (Tina) Holmes, Michelle Frost, Jason Thompson, and Samuel D. O’Neil. Brothers: Albert O’Neil, Sulton Madrid, Major (Norma) Moore, Reese (Carol) Robinson, Emory (janet) Moore, Leonard (Debbie) O’Neil, Reggie Moore, Robert (Pam) O’Neil, Douglass (Reola) Moore, Steve O’Neil, Jonathan Moore, Sisters: Peggy Lou O’Neil, Justina (Hector) Laboy, Patty Jackson, Shirley Moore, Deloris Moore, and Faith Moore.
He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Deshon, Deion, Devon, Michael, Brittany, Justin, Kaitlin, Donyale Jr., Deon, Lyanah, Indyah, Mikyle, Myeesha, Parris, DeAnglo, Erica, Great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
