Larry Boyd Jr., was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 18, 1987 to Larry Boyd Sr. and La Shon Haynes. Larry was educated in the Warrensville Heights School system and participated on the Warrensville Heights Community Unicycle team. Larry went on to attend Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Larry at a young age developed a love for music so much he started producing his own beats while still in high school. He moved on from producing beats to producing music videos and designing t-shirts.
Larry loved to DJ and was later come to be known by the name Slim Deuce. Larry was not only a music man but he was also a Renaissance man (if there was a problem, Little Larry could solve it…just ask Auntie Eydie and Uncle Napoleon)
While in Denver, Larry became a member of the World Mission Society Church of God. He continued to fellowship with the church after returning to Cleveland.
Larry returned to Cleveland in September 2018 to reside with Auntie Eydie and Uncle Napoleon. Larry enjoyed being around family and friends. Those who knew Little Larry could attest to that affectionate smile that was also on his face.
Larry departed this life on September 5, 2019. He was proceeded in death by his Grandparents Emma and Charles Boyd. Parents: Larry Boyd Sr and Mother LaShon Haynes, Siblings: Carl Patterson Jr and Carliesha Patterson, Grandmother: Carolyn Haynes Great Aunts: Kathy Muhammad and Carole Williams. Aunts: Renee Boyd, Eydie Harris (Napoleon), Kim Boyd and Sonya Haynes. Uncles: Travis Haynes (Trina) Uncle Darrell “Baba” Haynes Nieces: Kennedy Dior Patterson, Joy Badey; Nephews: Zayn Patterson and Amari Cortnor…and a host of cousins and friends.

Just found out about Larry's passing yesterday or would have come to show my respects. I met Larry at the Clinic one afternoon after I'd finished my own chemo treatment. My service dog and I were drawn to him immediately as he at the time had no visitors. We began what became a long chat, first connecting on the fact that my little brother's name was Larry with last name B as well. I just felt so much compassion for Larry, for his long hours and frequency of chemo - and his youth! We made a pact that day to keep meeting on our coincidental chemo days. Talked a lot about Christ, and we connected again on that supreme level. The next time I saw him, they had to ask Larry's permission to allow this purple-haired lady named Susan to see him. He did of course and we picked up right where we had left off. He has been high on my prayer list ever since, but they changed his schedule so we were no longer on the same days. Every visit, I'd ask the nurses if Larry happened to be in that day, and I always got a sorry but not today. I asked after him yesterday, and the ladies gently told me he had passed. They printed his obituary for me, and I was so happy to see the life he'd led before this devastating illness took him. Blessings to all of you who had him in your lives. I only wish I could have seen him again. He's with the Lord now and with peace, health, laughter, and music.

Larry “Slim Duece” Boyd was a Great man , a man full of knowledge and power. “Slim” was a 1 in 1 there will never be another person like Slim from being a artist to a Dj and Entrepreneur Slim could put on any hat made him very versatile. Slim never really worked for anybody he worked with a selected few but he was always his own boss who enjoyed setting his own hours and always self motivated his self 2 work Most of the time he worked 12-4 in the launch pad following up on leads booking gigs and doing R&D (Research and development)! A lot of people don’t know how many businesses Slim ran from the web design to the clothing line to the film company (Exest1998) he worked with and managed artist and ran a Record label TBEXE with his best friend LO! On Saturday’s they always dedicated the whole day to the label and to the music! Slim duece was a very positive man let no negative energy into his bubble he was never interested in ghetto gossip or talking about messed up things only about making things better for him self and his loved ones. All and all Slim duece was a pioneer a trailblazer that got up everyday and found a way. Little do we know slim duece showed us all how to make it no matter if your a rapper Dj or a business person he has already made us a trail all we gotta do is follow it long live SLIM DUECE THE SUPREME MC THE LIFE OF THE PARTY THE GLUE THE GOAT THE TRAIL BLAZER THE PIONEER THE LEGEND THE ICEBERG OF THE NEW Millennium THE MASTER MIND THE Oracle The Demi God The Chief The Founder The Creater I could go on for days. I miss u brother me Kennedy mommy lil Carl and joy carol Sonya Travis Trina alllll of us , I would have never thought t would have been u that I’m losing , someone so close and dear to me u never deserved this at alll please visit me as much as u can bro .. I miss playing them iMessage games with u I miss talking to u I miss seeing u .. I miss u period me and the family hanging in there but it’s hard I love u so so so sooooo much and May u Rest In Peace and in paradise see u soon I love you the other side of the family just ... I don’t even want to say because I know your looking down saying they did the wrong thing and me and mom is upset about it at an all time high .
