Larry Brown, affectionally known as Dad, Papa, Lar, Bro, Nephew, and Uncle Arry was born on April 1, 1956, in Akron, Ohio to the late Sellers Coy Brown, Jr. and Annette Benton Brown. He attended St. Mary School and South High School. He joined Community Fellowship Chapel in 2011 and was an active member; if there was something going on at church he was there. He was a group facilitator for the Addicts Recovering Through Christ (ARC) group.
He held various positions in the Service Industry before retirement. He was always eager to help people. He married Queen Esther Henderson and then was married to Darlene Lee. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid sports fan, but his favorite team was anything Cleveland. Larry enjoyed coaching his sons when they played softball with Highland Park. He loved spending time with his family and church members. Larry was an exceptionally talented artist; he could draw anything.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; son, Anthony Garcia Brown, parents, Sellers Coy Brown, Jr., and Annette Brown Corbin; grandparents, Sellers Coy & Ruth Brown, Sr, Preston Benton, James and Elizabeth Garcia and brother, Gary Lewis Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Lawrence (Charlyn) Brown, Bernard Brown; of Akron, Ohio; daughters, Starsha Riley, of Wooster, Ohio, Jessica (Marlon) Ervine of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Carol (Rev. Richard) Goodrum, Ann (Pastor Curtis) Snipes; brothers, Michael (Laura) Brown of Akron, Ohio and David Brown of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends: Sonia Riley, Deacon Kenneth Beckley, Pastor Caroline Williams, CFC Family, and ARC Group, as well as a host of family and friends.
