Larry Garrett, age 71, passed away on June 23, 2026.

Larry was born in Talladega, AL on August 5, 1954 to Elisha Garrett and Hannah Garrett. Larry married Carla Garrett of Akron, Ohio on May 10, 1980. Larry and Carla added to their family their five children.

Larry ( Fat Cat ) went to public schools in Talladega, Alabama as well as Akron Public Schools. He enjoyed boxing, joking with family and friends, and cooking for his family and friends. (Fat Cat ) enjoyed car shows and spending time with his beloved uncle Ray.

Larry enjoyed working on cars, building things from the ground up, and providing for his family. He spent his time traveling and seeing his family. He was able to go to truck driving school and fulfill a passion of his desire to be out on the road. He also loved animals and kept a dog friend close.

He was preceded in death by Elisha Garrett (Father), Hannah Garrett (Mother), Larry Garrett Jr (Son).

Larry is survived by daughter Tanya Hickson; daughter Elisa Garrett; Ex-wife Carla Garrett; son Zabian Davis; son Isayah Hickson; sister Josephine (John)Lucy; brother Waymon (Nancy) Garrett; brother Elisha (Becky) Garrett Jr; brother Benny Garrett; brother Jeffrey Garrett; sister Patricia Garrett and Friend Teddi Hickson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Granddaughters Kolia Garrett, Karmella Garrett, Grandsons Larry Garrett, Ahmad Garrett, Jafari Davis, Trey Davis, Isaiah Davis, Jammerio Claridy, and his Lovely Great Grand children, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
