Latasia Lynette Lampley of Akron, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2022, after a long illness.
Latasia was born on July 15, 1983, to Demetrice and Jacki Lampley. After graduating from Kenmore High School in 2001, she attended East Michigan University until a sudden illness determined she needed to come back home. She studied at N.I.T. and graduated. She went on to work for Time Warner Cable, where she met many wonderful friends. Sometime later, she accepted a position with TWC in South Carolina. However, circumstances once again brought her back home. Upon returning home, she began her career in the insurance industry working for Allstate. When Latasia gave birth to her son Elijah, she did not want to put him in daycare. Her heart led her to Akron First Academy and Preschool, where she helped implement their infant program by becoming the first lead teacher. She was an outstanding teacher with a great love for the children. When Eli reached pre-k, Latasia then felt comfortable enough to return to the insurance industry working for Homesite.
Latasia was an amazing mother to Eli, he was her pride and joy – her everything. She was known to be a “daddy’s girl”, hence who she named her son after. She was genuine, kind and loving. All her wonderful qualities made her an awesome daughter, sister, auntie and friend. Latasia will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Latasia is preceded in death by her grandfather, Walter Lampley Sr.; grandmother, Ruth Lampley; and grandmother, Bessie Bolin.
Left to cherish her memory forever are her son, Elijah David Demetrice Lampley; her parents, Demetrice and Jacki Lampley; her loving and devoted sister, Latoya Coates; her brother-in-love, Juanawn Coates; her favorite -and only- uncle, Walter (LaShaun) Lampley; the loves of her life (niece and nephews), Maya Coates, Juwan Coates, William Coates and Demetrice Coates; and special friends, Nakia Palmer, Amanda Smith, Nia Jeter, Kim Lucas and Shanelle Ward.
