Vennie was born in Barberton, OH on September 6, 1956, to Sheldon and Hattie Dampier. The family moved to Akron when Vennie was 12 years old. Vennie graduated from Buchtel High school. She was employed at Barberton Citizens Hospital for 25 yrs.

Vennie was preceded in death by his parents, Sheldon, and Hattie Dampier; son, Demetrius Harper (Metchie); brother, Charles Dampier (Charlie Boy); grandparents, many aunts, and uncles.

She is survived by her brothers, Donald, and Ricardo Dampier; sisters, Theresa, Pamela, and Mary (Kathy) Dampier; aunt, Helen Lockhart; grandsons, Isaiah, Elijah, Noah; their mother Pepin Harper; favorite cousin, Lillie Crosby; best friend for over 50 years; Turleen Dent; special friends, Cheryl Douglas of Denver, CO, and Kim Ahern; sister-in-law, Emma Dampier of Wadley, GA.
Lastly, we would like to thank Chatt and Van Simmons for everything they did for Vennie. We would like to also thank, Lisa Stevens for her excellent care and Vennie’s sister, Theresa for all her unconditional love and support she gave her.
