Laverne is survived by her daughters Julie Thomas and Alisa Thomas Dempsey (Jay); grandchildren, Phillip and Samantha Parker and Zachary Dempsey; siblings, R.C. Herring, John Harris, Betty Starke (Evans), and Clifford Griffin (Sandra), along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Laverne was preceded in death by her siblings; Bernice Brown (Russell), Frank Herring (Janie) Robert Herring (Sylvia), and Lucille Gilbert (Al).
