Lawrence James II, age 28, fell asleep in death on September 29, 2022.
Lawrence James II was born to the union of Lawrence and Sharon James on July 20, 1994, in Cleveland, OH. He was the beloved and youngest of three siblings to which he became affectionately known as “Boy Boy,” given to him by his father.
He attended Shaker Heights School, where he graduated with honors and excelled in math & science. After graduation, he attended TRI-C’s Manufacturing Technology program and earned his degree. He began his career in manufacturing engineering at Peak Nano where he excelled and was appreciated for his talent and work ethic.
He was passionate about his family and friends, with an exceptional fondness for children, who loved and adored him. Lawrence “Boy Boy” loved basketball and football and had a unique IQ for the game. His greatest love was his relationship with Jehovah God. Lawrence was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, symbolizing his dedication, on January 30, 2010. He remained loyal and dedicated, even when his faith was tested.
In 2019, Boy Boy became very ill, suffering from kidney failure and a weakened heart that ultimately led to his journey with hemodialysis. Lawrence courageously decided to take his health into his own hands. He bravely educated himself and his family on home dialysis treatment, which he conducted five days a week. After fearlessly battling for three years, he fell asleep in death. The good news is that “Boy Boy” sleeps peacefully, no longer suffering, and is awaiting his resurrection as Jehovah promised.
He leaves to mourn his loving parents: Lawrence and Sharon James; three siblings, Liyana, Brandon, and Brittany (Maurice). Uncles Joseph Jr. (Nina), Aunts Sherrian Tina (Bryant), and Nicole. He also, leaves a host of beloved cousins and friends who love and will miss Lawrence “Boy Boy” deeply. His grandparents: Gilbert Sr. and Ora Lee James, Joseph Sr., and Geraldine Lewis; uncles Harold, Herbert, and Gilbert; aunts Charlene and Carol (Clifford) all preceded in death but not forgotten.
