Leila”Mabel”Taylor, was born on December 24, 1936, in Barnesville, Georgia to Ollis and Lillie (Maude) Dumas. She was the oldest of three daughters. Her parents and sister Mildred preceded her in death. Our angel peacefully went home on October 27, 2024.
Mabel accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Affinity Missionary Baptist Church of Cleveland, Ohio.
Mabel was married to Theodore Hogan (who preceded her in death) and to this union two sons were born; Theodore Hogan and Gary B. Hogan. She later met and married Luke Edward Taylor (who also preceded her in death) and to this union one daughter was born; Terri S. Taylor.
Mabel held several jobs over the years. She was employed and retired from the Union Carbide/Ever Ready Battery Company in 1997 and the Oakwood Golden Age Community Center in 2018. She also had a passion for Cosmetology, she spent over sixty years as a Beautician and salon owner.
Mabel loved her family and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and going to the casino. She also enjoyed baking Sweet Potatoe Pies for her family every Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Mabel leaves behind to cherish very fond and loving memories: two sons, Theodore Hogan and Gary B. Hogan (Deborah); one daughter, Terri S. Taylor ; one living sister, Carolyn Woodfork; four grandchildren, Shalonda Anderson (Wayne), Tameika Hogan, Dawn Topp (Jeremy) and Marc Hogan. Eleven great grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
