A wonderful spirit has left us. Our Mother, Lenora Dorothy Woodard (Horton), passed away on July 3, 2023.
She was born December 12, 1941, in Red River Parish, LA. She was one of 9 children born to the late Judge & Merci Lee Horton.
Our Mother was amazing!! She loved people, especially her family.
She raised multiple generations at 880 Sheridan, her home for over 40 years. She enjoyed bingo with her sisters weekly, and playing cards and dominoes with anyone willing to sit at her dining room table. She was an amazing cook and would nourish anyone with a meal.
She worked at Ohio Bell for over 20 years and was part of the union. She was also very active in her community working as a volunteer for A. Phillip Randolph which included registering people to vote.
