Leola Denise Scott, 71, went home to be with The Lord on November 15, 2023.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Leola was the last of seven brothers and sisters to Anna Mae and Henderson D. Scott. She proudly graduated from South High School in June of 1970 and went on to study Business Management Technology at The University of Akron.
In Leola’s spare time, she enjoyed social and community functions as a daughter of Mary Exalted Temple #95 (Akron Elks) and was a participant of The American Legions Post #272.
Some of Leola’s hobbies included fishing, which she would always step on the fish to get the hooks out of their mouths, cooking delicious dinners, her most requested beans & cornbread and everyone’s favorite chicken with dressing. But she was best known for baking that world famous pineapple upside down cake.
Nothing else was more important to Leola than spending those special moments with her family and friends. She was a committed and faithful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. Although she is gone, she will forever be missed.
“Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die” (John 11:25-26).
“To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord” (2 Corinthians 8)
