Leona Sellers (McGlothan) was born January 27th, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio to the union of Brochie and Gertrude McGlothan. She was the fourth child out of seven. All six siblings had preceded her in death, and she was the last living matriarch. Leona graduated from John Adams High School and continued to Cuyahoga Community College receiving her Early Childhood Certification. Leona was employed by the Center for Human Services for over thirty years. After retiring, Leona volunteered at the Lakeshore Golden Age Center until 2020. Leona devoted her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Pentecostal Church of Christ serving the Lord in many capacities. She later joined Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church where she fulfilled her passion of working with the Youth during Children Hour. Leona had a love for fashion and was known for her Sunday Hats. She loved to travel, line dance, bake, and cook.
Leona’s pride and joy was her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She leaves behind her beloved husband, John Sellers; daughters Ramona Menefee and Belita Bush; son-in-love George Nichols; grandchildren – Ayesha Stanislas (Spencer), Virlaria Husband (Terry), Malika Hayes, Tierra Moore (Dennis), Rahim Nichols (Charette), great grandchildren – Gabrielle, Elyse, Karli, Seriah, Micah, Juliette, Seth, Judah. Daughter Jocelyn Nichols and great granddaughter Kameron preceded her in death. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-love along with three bonus daughters, Irene Branch, Kim Tyler Chappell, and Dilla Green.
