Leroy Harrison Sr. was born December 6, 1926, in Bluffton, GA to the late Eula Harrison and Roy Humphrey. He was the eldest of two children. He completed high school and went to serve two years in the US Army as a cook. He had a strong upbringing which made him the strong man he grew up to be. He passed these traits on to all he encountered. He always said if Aunt Sally, (his grandmother) said something, she didn’t repeat herself, so if he said something it was not repeated. He celebrated 71 years of marriage to Roselyn Harrison on February 21, 2019. He retired from City Laundry and Dry Cleaning. In his early years, He enjoyed dancing and won several contests. He also enjoyed cooking and sharing unforgettable history lessons. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Roselyn Harrison; father, Roy Humphrey, and mother, Elula Bennet; sister, Sally Zachary; daughter Jolene Harrison, Angela Harrison; son, Buard Harrison; grandson, Damon Harrison.
He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Harrison; sons, Floyd (Gladys) Ayers, Leroy (Angela deceased) Harrison, Harry Sasser, Charles Harrison, Edwin Breedlove, and Mark Gibbs; sisters-in-law, Betty Blackmon, Evanna (Leroy, deceased) Weaver, Ruby (Thomas, deceased) Shingles; brothers-in-law, Charles (Mary) Shedrick, William (Geneva deceased) Shedrick; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
