Rosita: Our deepest condolences to you, your children-LeSean and Romique, and the rest of the Motton family, in the passing of your husband, and your children’s father, Leroy Motton. He was a remarkable person whose strength and kindness touched everyone who knew him. The loss of a loved one can indeed be a most difficult challenge, replete with tears and at times a broken spirit. Sadly,” Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.” And yet, in these challenging times, the Psalmist reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit’ (Psalm 34:18) and “…binds up their wounds” (Psalm147:3). May we all be comforted as we mourn Leroy’s loss. In Loving Friendship, Mary, Bradley, James Dennis, and Family
MIKE CURRY left a message on May 30, 2025:
Rose, Sean, Romique, my family, I could not be there with you in person today. My heart is with you. It would take me a day to share with you about Lee. I will take just a few minutes to tell you a little about this Gentle Giant. I don't know where to start. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Friend—all wrapped into one. My Grandmother, his aunt Vastie, brought us together as boys. His father, my uncle George, was her brother. I didn’t have an older brother, so I just made him my big brother. We all know about superheroes and their superpowers. Well, I’m telling you that I always looked up to my cousin Leroy. If you were to go to Orange Mound in Memphis, Tennessee, or ask anyone of age about Leroy Motton, his name would be buzzing. They called him Motton. I wanted to be like my cousin Lee, so I followed him by playing football and going to college. He was a hard act to follow, he was an awesome family man. Again, I tried to follow his lead. I learned in later life that it's ok to be a copycat, as long as you copy the right Cat! I’ll leave with this quote that I heard from Les Brown, “Do not go where the path may lead, but go where there is no path and leave a trail” Mike Curry

My Heart and soul goes out to all Leroy's family members in this time of grief. Words cannot express my feeling of compassion for your loss. As a work associate of Leroy for over 25 years, Leroy helped me at a time when I needed support from a friend and he was there. His strength and courage helped me to deal with health issues we were both dealing with at the same time. He will be in my thoughts forever.
Reginald Houston left a message on May 28, 2025:
It is with deep sadness to acknowledge the passing of Leroy Motton. For over twenty-seven years, Leroy has been a pillar of strength and positivity in our workplace, always ready with kind words and support. My heart goes out to Rosita,Romique, and the entire Motton Family during this incredibly difficult time. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions:if it were not so, I would have told you. I go and prepare a place for you. And if I go prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there ye may be also. " John 14:1-3(KJV) Respectfully, Reggie Houston

What a man, what a man ! I had a good cry because Leroy was a true gentleman. I worked at the steelmill for 27 yrs until they shut down J&L/LTV WEST SIDE. I was a foreman the blast furnace and I met this handsome, gentle big smile man,who will always always have a place in my heart. Thank you Leroy for making me laugh !

Nick Pugliese left a message on May 23, 2025:
This poem was given to us when we lost our daughter. Leroy was my brother. Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again! All my love, Nick Pugliese
