Reflection of Life:
Leslie Brian Smith better known as Lazy by all whom loved him departed this life peacefully on November 13, 2024. Born on September 23, 1951, to Connell Joyce Bell and Ernest Smith Jr. he was the second of four children.
Lazy attended R.B. Hayes, Kennard Jr. High, and East Tech. Later, he dedicated himself as a Laser-Technician at Meyer Products, where he worked until his well-earned retirement in 2016. Later in 2018 he joined the MGM Northfield Park family, where he embraced his role with enthusiasm, creating memories with co workers who became like family.
Lazy loved sports, especially football and basketball, which he rarely missed watching with his eldest son, Dezi. But beyond the game he loved fashion.
Lazy was preceded in death by his cherished mother Connell Joyce Smith and his father Ernest Smith Jr.
Lazy’s legacy of love lives on through his wife of 15 years , Charlice Smith; his children Tammie Jones (Antonio), Cherron Whittsette, Dorez Whittsette (Cierra), Starr Williams, Brian Conner, and Dominic Conner; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; Cierra, Angelique, Natei, Dezi, Dominique, William, Jermyah, Lyric, Mai’Brianna, and O’Dei; his bonus kids and grandson, DeAndre, Benny, Camren. He also leaves his siblings, brothers Ernest Smith III (Gloria), David Smith, and sisters, Renee Smith and Vicki Smith. His mother and father in law, two sisters in law and three brothers in law along with a host of nieces, nephews, and life long friends too numerous to count but deeply loved.
Lazy’s beautiful soul, his style, his effortless charm and his love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. A parting dance, a loving smile, and a legacy of kindness will keep him with us in spirit-missed deeply, remembered fondly, and forever loved.
