Leslie Willis, the sixth child of nine born to Bozy and Ado Willis, (proceeding him in death — parents and siblings Patricia, Alphonso, Milton ) Leslie graced the family with his arrival on May 12, 1960.
Leslie accepted Jesus Christ as a young child and attended Church of God in Christ with his family. As an adult Les visited the Pentecostal Church of Christ where mom, dad, and sister had begun worshiping and upon first visit he understood the assignment…It was NOT just a visit. Les made his way to the altar and ask to be baptized and on March 13, 1994 under the Leadership of the Late Bishop J Delano Ellis, Leslie was baptized in JESUS NAME.
Later years after purchasing his home in Euclid, Ohio Leslie began worshiping at Euclid Lutheran Church located at the corner of his street under the Leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Adams, He worshipped there until his health no longer permitted him to attend in person.
Affectionately called Les by many , he attended and graduated from the Cleveland Public School Systems. Les started working fir a few different businesses including Amazon and the Euclid Public School system until he was medically retired.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing or even just being in his company enjoyed much conversation and laughter. Everyone knew you absolutely had to hear about his love , passion and commitment to all animals but dogs in particular. As a member and supporter of the ASPCA rescue, Les had an undying Love for dogs, at one time he had on upwards of thirteen dogs, although it drove the family nuts, his love and mission to rescue endangered animals was pretty clear, if you weren’t willing to hear about his son Coby Mario Demetrius Willis …LOL, then the conversation was over.
Leslie had other passions, he loved going to Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid, Ohio he would talk about how Peaceful it was to sit and talk with his HEAVENLY FATHER, he enjoyed all music including jazz. Above all he loved his family, especially those nieces and nephews, always concerned and trying to tell them the right things to do, sharing his love, time and resources with them. Les had a heart for children, he would hang out with his cousins, their children and just have a day out at the zoo, IX Center , ice cream, go shopping for toys, and clothes, even for the children he didn’t know, sometimes it meant lack for himself , but he wanted children to feel loved.
Les transitioned from this earthly life and entered eternal rest on June 14, 2023 after a lengthy battle with his health. He will forever be in the hearts and mind of those who loved him.
Cherishing his memories, siblings Gloria ( Alonzo), Gary ( Renee) , Glen (Willa), Shirley ( Nathaniel), and Perry.
A host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece, two aunts Cleo and Bertha and many many cousins too numerous to name.
