Mr. Leverne James

Leverne James was born June 1, 1947, in York, Alabama, to Martin and Pearl (Johnson) James (both deceased). He was the baby of nine children. All preceded him in death, Annie Mae, William Hugh, Connie Lee, Johnnie Mae, Nadine, Charlie Mae, Richard, and Willie David.
Leverne was a kind-hearted, soft-spoken man that loved his family. He never married, never had children and lived a quiet life.
He enjoyed shooting pool and being around family. He was very quiet and spent most of his time observing people. He spent his later years in a nursing home due to a mental condition he suffered from that required him to need round-the-clock care. His face would light up when he talked about his family.
He was known as “Uncle Butch” to his nieces and nephews.
Uncle Butch leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
