In Loving Memory of
Linda Ann King
January 11, 1952 – April 16, 2025
Linda Ann King passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Berkeley, California, after a brief illness. She was born January 11, 1952, in Medina, Ohio, to Thomas King, Sr. and Mozella Watkins King Lillard.
A vibrant personality at Medina High School, Linda graduated in 1970 as Salutatorian. She brought students together through music. Her artistic spirit eventually brought her to California, where she immersed herself in the arts community for decades. There, she expanded her creative expression to include poetry and spoken word. She earned BA and MA degrees from Mills College and later served as an adjunct professor of English Composition for many years at Berkeley City College. Her impact as an educator was honored by students and colleagues during tributes featuring song, dance, poetry, and live music.
Linda is survived by her siblings, Tonya Carter (Donald Carter), Thomas King (Toni King), and Germaine Lillard II (Lorri Lillard). She is especially remembered by her friends, Shirley Coleman of Antioch, California and Eugenia Harris of Richmond, California. Linda also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by sister, Sandra Sanders.
A family memorial will be held to honor her life and spirit.
