Linda Beth Irons, affectionately known as “Skee,” graced this world on April 16, 1969, born to the late Willie C & Ossie B Irons. Linda’s journey was marked by her indomitable spirit and passion for life.
She began her educational journey at Mary M. Bethune, Wilbur Wright, and John Hay High School, where her prowess in basketball and track and field dominated, paving the way for a scholarship to West Virginia College. There, she not only excelled in sports but also formed enduring bonds with her “college girls” and found her college sweetheart, Omar.
Linda’s strong work ethic defined her career, evident in her dedicated service at Nicole Corporation, Cedarwood, Greyhound, and ultimately the VA Hospital. Her colleagues became a cherished extension of her family, a testament to the impact she made on those around her.
Above all, Linda’s heart overflowed with pride and joy for her children: Lateshia, Latiss, Alexis, and Ja’Vion. Her greatest treasures were her beloved grandchildren, Aiden, Adonis, and Ameri, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Chuckie and Willie Irons, and sister Joyce. She leaves behind a legacy that will endure through her brother Walter, sisters Mary, Lemmie, Betty, and Gloria, and a special sister, Angliette. Her memory lives on in the hearts of nephews Joshua, Joseph, William, Kenneth, Eric, and Anwar, as well as nieces Erica, Quintasha, Dominique, and Jalice.
As we bid farewell to Linda Beth Irons, let us remember the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the enduring impact of her remarkable journey on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
