Linda Eileen Neal Boyd made her transition to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Copley Health Center with her loving and devoted daughter Eileen by her side. Linda was born to the late Clifford Eugene and Jessie Marie Neal on May 29, 1945, in Akron, Ohio where she lived all her life. She graduated from South Senior High School in 1963.
She was a member and a good servant of Antioch Baptist Church. Many remember her as their Sunday School teacher. Linda was a true prayer warrior. She knew the Bible and truly loved the Lord.
Linda first worked as a secretary for the YWCA. Leaving there, she was hired at BFGoodrich Tire & Rubber Factory retiring after 17 years as a Conveyor Belt Operator. She last worked at Jennings Middle School as a cafeteria food preparer.
She was an avid bowler and she loved to cook. We could not wait until Thanksgiving came to get her famous “dressing.” She would not reveal or give her secret recipe, even though she said she went by taste! One of Linda’s favorite gospel songs was “Safe in His Arms” by Rev. Milton Brunson. “Linda, yes, you truly are now.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Herbert E. Neal Sr., and Russel C. Neal Sr.; sister, Karole Neal Foster Ford.
Left to celebrate her life that was well-lived is her daughter, Eileen Nicole Boyd; sisters, Karen Neal, Dolly Neal, Ellen Neal, and Evelyn Neal Miller all of Akron, OH; sisters-in-law, Willie Ann Neal and Carolyn Neal-Clay both of Akron, OH; cousins, Frederick and Rosalind Neal of Gary, IN, Vernon and Vivian Neal of The Villages, FL, Christy Grant of Akron, OH, Carmen Jones and Barbara Williams of Detroit MI, Darleen and Walter Moss of Canton, OH, and Arveeda and Thomas Gordon of Radcliff, KY and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, Antioch Baptist Church Family; and friend and former husband, Eddie Boyd and for being his daughter’s rock during this time.
