Linwood L. Rushing was born on May 2, 1951, in Cruger, Mississippi, to Tishie Olivia Rushing and Morris Lee Rushing Sr. Linwood was the eleventh of eleven children. Linwood accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior of his life at an early age.
Linwood graduated from Tchula Attendance Center in Tchula, Mississippi. After graduating High School, Linwood served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army, Linwood moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he attended Cuyahoga Community College. In 1993, Linwood retired from the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA).
Linwood was a generous and caring man who was loved by all. Linwood loved helping others. He never bragged about his good deeds, but those who were blessed by his kindness say they will never forget what he did for them.
Linwood departed this life on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Lee Rushing Sr. and Tishie Olivia Rushing. He was also preceded in death by six siblings: Hattie Smith (Alex Smith-Deceased), Morris Lee Rushing Jr., Leroy Rushing (Stella Rushing), Rev. Dr. Phillip Van Rushing (Helen-Deceased), Rosa Lee Carr, and Maggie Daniels.
Left with blessed memories of Linwood are Linda L. Duckworth (the love of his life) and his two beautiful daughters, Eiahnna Pique-Winters and Chloe Rushing. Linwood also leaves four siblings who loved him dearly: Willie Rushing of Broadview, Illinois, Isabelle Rushing of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Tillman Rushing of Tchula, Mississippi, and Trudy Hall of Chicago, Illinois.
Linwood also leaves five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends whom he dearly loved.
Linwood will be sorely missed.
