Lloyd was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Milledgeville, GA. He was 1 of 5 children, born into the union of Edward and Eceaile Monday.

Lloyd accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church under the late William C. Upshaw. Later in life he and his wife, Debra, joined the Zion Temple Baptist Church, under Pastor Mark Tony Ward, where he served in the Men’s Ministry as treasurer, couples ministry, and 100 men in white choir.

Lloyd graduated from Akron South High School, with the class of 1967, where he played on the varsity football team and ran track.

Mr. Monday believed that a man should work, to provide for his family. He was a hard worker, working up until the day of his illness. He began working at Sieberling Tire and Rubber, right after high school, until they closed. He held several positions after their closing, including Polysar, PCA Ritman, and Jefferson Smurf Fitt, which is where he retired from, but oh, he didn’t stop there. Lloyd went on to work at the Holiday Inn, Summa, and at the time of his illness, he worked at Hazel Grace Home Health Care, where he took great care of Mr. Chuck, and found family with Felicia, Lori and others.

Lloyd was known for cooking the best ribs and his witty, come back, statements, and asking “what’s the latest gossip”.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Debra Paulette Monday, parents, Edward Sr. and Eceaile Monday, sisters, Daisy Richardson, and Ruby (Joe) Daniel.

His legacy and love for family and friends will live forever in the hearts of his children, Nicolette, (Rodney) Decatur, Lloyd (Man) Jr., Elton (Carla) Monday, Joi Adams, and his bonus children, DC Moore, Tony Moore, Dee Dee Moore, his 12 grandchildren, 15 Great Grand Children, and 1 on the way. Siblings, Sister, Louise Davis, Brother Edward (Patricia) Monday, Jr., Special bonus niece, jasmine Friday, his special little grand buddy, Buster, and his best friend, and mother of his oldest three children, Phyllis Lanier, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
