Lorenza Anthony Roberts was born January 9, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edward Roberts and Millerine Troupe Roberts. Lorenza was the middle child and only son of this union. His eldest sister (Gloria Diane) and baby sister (Loretta Ann) completed the sibling trio.
Lorenza was educated in the Cleveland Public School System and later served in the United States Army, where he was honorably discharged.
Lorenza was married to Eunice Williams Roberts for forty-six years. To this union, one son was born, Lorenza Anthony Roberts II, whom he loved and appreciated all his life.
Lorenza was a former member of Second New Hope Baptist Church. His religious affiliation continued with his membership in Bethany Christian Church.
Lorenza’s employment included: Distributor for Bailey Beauty Supply; employee of Harris Money Exchange and McDonald’s Manager under the original Cleveland franchise.
Lorenza was a quiet, peaceful, kind man who loved his family dearly. His great joys were sitting outside and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lorenza loved playing cards with his lifelong buddies, his uncle Bobby and Leroy (both deceased), Mo, Toby and James.
Lorenza was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Millerine Roberts, his sister, Loretta Ann Byers; son, Larry Hawkins; great-nephew, David Turner, aunts, uncles, as well as relatives and friends.
Lorenza leaves to mourn: his wife, Eunice Roberts; his son, Lorenza Anthony Roberts II; his sister, Gloria D. Brown; his grandchildren: Tameana, Brt’tanei and James; great grandchildren: Dakota and Roman. Nephews: Darryl Turner (Lynn), Eric Turner., Glenn Byers (Carolyn); Aunt, Gladys Rankin; one great nephew, seven great nieces, and a host of many cousins, other relatives and friends who also mourn his loss.
