Loretta (Bridges) Jeffries was born on August 28, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, to her late parents, Bonnie (Lewis) Bridges and Henry Bridges. She was the youngest of four children, including sisters Bonnie Inniss and Brenda Bridges. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Bridges Jr. Loretta attended Lane Metropolitan C.M.E. Church located at 2131 East 46 Street in Cleveland, Ohio, where she accepted Christ at an early age. Loretta resided at 2353 East 74th Street with her parents and siblings. She attended Quincy Elementary, then Robert H. Jamison Jr. High, and John Adams High School, where she showed a great deal of school spirit by participating in many activities.
She graduated high school in 1975, worked an office job for a short time, then attended Cuyahoga Community College to pursue her passion for business administration. Loretta began working at the United States Postal Service in November 1977 and happily retired in June 2020. Loretta was joined in Holy Matrimony on July 14, 1988, with her longtime love, Wash Jeffries Jr. They have two daughters, Oasis Jeffries, and Tiffany Jeffries; along with two grandchildren; Zara Hairston (9) and Jonah Bell (arriving soon). Loretta had numerous hobbies: gardening, socializing, music, taking walks, and shopping. She would often sing and dance, brightening up any atmosphere she entered with her beautiful smile.
On March 2, 2023, Loretta was called home to be with the Lord. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and great friend. The memory of her will always be cherished by a host of relatives, friends, and community, whom she loved dearly.
Loretta was treasured by many, including her husband, Wash; daughters, Oasis, and Tiffany; sisters, Bonnie, and Brenda; mother-in-law, Mildred; sisters-in-law, Doris, Evone, Elaine, and Bettye; nieces, Annisha and Joy; nephews, Brandon, Kris, Kevin, and Jamar; great nephews, Kase and Westin.
She lives in our memory now and will forevermore…
