Loretta Mae Culpepper, on Monday, February 27, 2023, an angel descended and quietly claimed the soul of a good and faithful servant of Christ.
Loretta was one of seven children and was born on March 9, 1951, to the late Reuben and Victoria Jackson in Dayton, Ohio. Loretta attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio.
She later relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where she attended William L. Dawson Training Center for Secretary and Entry Level training. She then moved to East Cleveland, Ohio in 1976. She worked for the State Liquor Control as a Sales Supervisor and retired after 16 years. She also retired from Giant Eagle as Liquor Department Team Leader in 2013.
Loretta enjoyed playing cards with her family. She liked to dance and sing at family gatherings, alongside her daughters. Loretta enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren while creating memorable moments. Loretta will always be known for her famous homemade dinner rolls, marinated ribs, and telling it like it is, without sugar-coating the truth. She will be greatly remembered by the little lady with green eyes and a big heart. They broke the mold when they made her. Loretta will be greatly missed.
Preceding in her death was her husband, Arthur Culpepper; sister, Arnora; brother, Reuben; and furry friend, Niyah.
Loretta is loved by many and will be missed by many. She leaves behind to celebrate her life and cherish memories, her four children, Charles, Yolanda, Tony, and Audrey (Donte’); stepdaughter, Christine; grandchildren, Ajalynn, La’Ressa, Charles Jr., Te’Shawn, Tony Jr., Jon, Morgan, Keonte’, and Donte’ Jr.; siblings, Gwendolyn, Maria, Janessa (Gregory), and Gretchen (Jerome); great-grandchildren, Sa ‘Miyah, and Emperor; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
