Louis C. Johnson birth name LC was born on August 27, 1938, to Johnnie and Halace Johnson in Uniontown, Alabama. He was the sixth child of fourteen children. In 1952, the family moved from Alabama to Cleveland, Ohio, and in 1956, Louis graduated from Thomas A. Edison Occupational School.
At 30 years of age, Louis married Belinda Coleman on October 21, 1967. Three years later, they welcomed their daughter, Angel. In addition, he provided fatherly love to Charles and Demetrius.
Though Louis learned about God at an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1975. Louis loved God, which was exemplified through his service to others, and his regular support of various charitable organizations.
As a skilled operator, Louis was gainfully employed throughout his life, working for the Halle Brothers Co., H. Goodman Furniture, and the Western Reserve Manufacturing, which is where he retired in 2013, at the ripe age of 73, after 36 years of service.
Louis was humble, and modest. In his leisure, Louis enjoyed writing poetry, songs, and theatrical scripts; reading the Bible; watching baseball (particularly the Cleveland Indians) and westerns; bowling, and spending quality time with family. Louis was so beloved by his family that they honored him with an award for being a solid and respected pillar in the family.
Louis’ Heavenly Father concluded his earthly journey at the blessed age of 85. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Johnson (2016); his father, Johnnie Johnson (1975); his mother, Halace Johnson (1995); his siblings, Georgetta (1977), Smiley (1999), Edward (2013), Lucille and Emma (2019); and two nieces and two nephews.
Left to treasure his legacy, love and memory are his children Angel I. Johnson, Charles R. Johnson, and Demetrius G. Johnson; grandson Derrick J. Connor; siblings Charles, Minnie (Zeke) Leona, Lillie (George), Peter, Esau, Doris, and Mae Ella; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and others whom he touched in a special way along his life journey.
