With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Lucille Wearren, who went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2025. Born on November 22, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Mary James, Lucille was the eldest of her siblings and a pillar of strength, love, and grace in her family.
Lucille was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John Hay High School. She worked for many years at the Hathaway Brown School for Girls, where she touched the lives of countless students and staff with quiet dedication and kind heart. She also worked at Johns on Cedar until it closed, always bringing care and commitment to everything she did.
She was united in marriage with the late Robert Wearren Sr., and together they shared a life filled with love, faith, and family. Lucille was the proud and devoted mother of her late daughter, Felicia James. Her family was her joy and greatest source of pride.
Lucille was a woman of deep faith who lived with humility, warmth, and generosity. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking delicious meals for those she loved, listening to music, and playing cards with family and friends. Her home was a place of peace, laughter, and unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary James; her husband, Robert Wearren Sr.; her daughter, Felicia James; and her sisters Patsy Leslie and Belinda James. Though their absence is felt deeply, we take comfort in knowing they are reunited in God’s care.
Lucille leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Robert Wearren Jr; her siblings Shirley Williamson (Caldwell), the eldest brother Larry James (Brenda), and Michael James (the youngest brother); her beloved granddaughter Maiyah Wearren; Nieces and Nephews and a host of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
Lucille’s life was a gift to us all, a life marked by love, faith, strength, and compassion. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
