Lucy Lorena Ebenezer went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. She was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1923 in New Castle, PA and raised in Akron, OH. The eldest daughter of five children born to the late George Albert and Mattie “Hazel” Jones.
Lucy graduated from West High school class of 1940, a student of the University of Akron Continuing Education and American Institute of Banking. She retired from National City Bank (PNC) and was also employed at Seibert Keck Insurance Company, Hairston Appliance, Polsky Department Store (Akron, OH) and Sears (Chicago, IL). Her Hobbies and special interest include Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball (Oldest member of LeBron James Grandmother Fan Club), Bowling, Sewing, Golf (watching Tiger Woods), Baseball (Cleveland Indians)
She was preceded in death by parents George Albert and Mattie “Hazel” Jones, daughter Ilona Ilene Sellers and brothers David and George Jones Jr.
She is survived by daughters Alona (Joseph) Coleman, Luann (John) White, and Maxine Ebenezer; sisters Dolores (William) Reid and Hazel Palms; 10 grandchildren Timothy Jackson, Craig (Donita) Jackson, Bryan Coleman, Keith Coleman, Eric Coleman, Kelley (Marcus) Walton, John White III, William White, Richard (Stephanie) Wilson, and Jamika Wilson; 24 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren and countless relatives and friends.
