LueVenia R. Alford, age 81, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Retired from Cleveland State University after 25 years of service as an Executive Assistant in the History Department. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward. Survived by daughter Karen Stewart of Columbus, son Reginald Richardson of Cleveland; grandchildren Moniqua Spencer, John Stewart, Brandy Stewart, Jaime Richardson, Andre Stewart, and Merlin Hall; siblings Florine Owens and Brenda King; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call or send flowers on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 1-8pm at Calhoun Funeral Home, 23000 Rockside Road, Bedford Hts., OH 44146. Public memorial service to be held at 4pm, Friday, February 20 at Calhoun Funeral Home. Private interment service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Dear Alford family. I am so sorry to have read of your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our dear loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death.
