Macey Simone Sampson, age 23, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2023. She lived most of her life in Kent, Ohio and graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School. She was a mother to two beautiful children: Carter, 6, and Malani, 3.

Macey loved her children and was blessed to have them. Her smile was contagious and brought out those cute dimples. You always knew when she was around because you could hear her laugh a mile away. Everything she did was loud and extra, LOL.

Macey was a go-getter and a hard worker. Over the years, she became an amazing cook; many people enjoyed and appreciated this talent.

She had a beautiful voice which allowed her to sing in many churches, nursing homes, and other venues across the country.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mary Wable (Gigi) and Lillian Garcia. She will also be reunited with her beloved angel, Tyrique Shields (the father of her children).

She is survived by her Mother, Mary. T. Wable; Father Ricardo Sampson; Son Carter Sampson; Daughter Malani Shields; Brother Ricardo Sampson, Jr.; Sister Tanisha Sampson; Sister Nichole Palmer; the children’s grandmother, Monica Cole-Shields who loved Macey like a daughter; and Mariah Hersman and Jordan Dennis who were like sisters to her. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Macey will be missed tremendously by all.
