Mae Alice Walker was born December 13, 1941 in Akron Ohio to the late George Walker and Olivia (Williams) Walker. Mae was the youngest of five siblings and was raised by Eula and Jake Johnson. She attended South High School and was a homemaker. She married Robert H. Yancey in 1977 no children were born of their union. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing and word search puzzles. She was blessed with one daughter Raynita by Raymond Snipes. She recently was visiting her daughter, Raynita, when she suddenly passed away at Henry Piedmont Hospital in Stockbridge, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert; father, George Walker; mother, Olivia Walker; sisters, Evelyn Walker Manning, Jacqueline Walker Ragsdale; brothers, George Raymond Walker, Johnnie Walker; other siblings; Chester Walker, Nancy and Johnny Bill Martin, Jimmy Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Raynita (Alex) of Atlanta; Stepchildren: Debra Bruner of Akron, Robert A. Yancey Jr., of WA, Mark (Patricia) of Atlanta and Fawn Bridges and brother Billy Johnson of Akron; grandchildren: David Mason Jr., Phillip Mason, Celia Bruner, Reginald Bridges, Chris Bridges (Dolanna) of Akron, Tasha Payne, (Jamill), Jennifer Thomas (Kwesi), Stephanie and Stephen from Atlanta, Nikkea and Jasmine of Virginia, Robert Jr., of WA and LaTeryl Sharpe of Akron; 12 great grandchildren; special family: La-Barbara Watkins, Gussie Peterson, Jacqui Scott, Teresa Aaron, Derrick Johnson, Curtis and Ann Snipes, Helen Snipes, and John and Mildred Upshaw; special friends: Jennifer Calhoun and Ruth Brown; and a host of, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins as well as family and friends.
