Marcellus “Marc” Maurice Longshore was born January 5, 1960 in Orville, Ohio to Willie L. & Geraldine C. (Blunt) Longshore. He was educated throughout the Massillon School System, and attended Franklin Elementary School, Jones Jr High, and graduated from Washington High School June 1978. Marc received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana May 1983. That Fall of the same year he started his Grad work in Education at IU as well. He was a proud Hoosier!
Marc’s love of sports started as a very young boy. He played Pony and Little League Baseball, in Junior High was an All Star starting quarterback, and in High School he played both cornerback and safety for one of the best high school football teams in the country The Champion Massillon Tigers! Coupled with his love of academics and athletic abilities, is why he received multiple full scholarship offers from various Big Ten Schools and other Universities before deciding upon his alma mater Indiana University. Where he excelled academically and as a starting cornerback for the Hoosiers! Marc played in 45 career games, and had nine career interceptions!
During his early professional career, he worked for Boeing in Washington State, as a consultant, then later went on to establish himself as self-employed for many, many years within the healthcare field of rehabilitation and mental health counseling.
Marc lived his life to the fullest and he definitely danced to his own tune! Although he enjoyed sports, and a good conversation, nothing compared to the joy he had when spending time with his boys and three grandchildren, Harper, Aiden, and Cohen. If it was feeding the ducks at Washington Park, trips to Chuckie Cheese, or the infamous tea parties with Ms. Harper, you’d see a side of him that only the three of them could bring out. He will also be missed by his loving Goddaughter, Journe’ Nyla Brinson. He loved many different genres of music, and it was always nice to hear him singing along when one of his favorite songs was playing. To name a few of his favorites he loved him some early Sade, Maze, Gap Band, and many more.
Marc was married to Ms. Sherrie K. Parrish from 1986-1991, from that union they had two sons; Corbin Paul (Jennifer Diane) Longshore, of Castle Rock, CO, and Collier James Longshore, of Chicago, IL.
He shared many years with his partner, wife Jennifer (Alex) Brooks, and his bonus son Joshua D. Hardwick, both of Denver, CO.
He is preceded in death by his parents Willie L. and Geraldine C. Longshore, and his brother Darren K. Longshore and Grandmothers, Marcella Blunt and Lillie Mae Longshore.
