Margaret Arleather Gary was born on December 2, 1944, in Norfolk, Virginia to Haywood and Eva Raby Boone.
Margaret, affectionately known as “Peggy,” went to summer school and graduated from high school early to join the Women’s Army Corps of the United States Armed Forces in 1963 and served for 3 years. Her intelligence and organizational skills were quite notable as she learned to type and communicate through Morse code.
Peggy graduated from Kent State University with an Associate Degree in Library Science. She was employed by the Twinsburg Public Library for 25 years.
Peggy married her husband, Willie Ronald Gary, on her birthday, December 2, 1966. Together they had 3 children: Anthony, Valerie, and Robert. Peggy and her husband loved to dance and shared many date nights together going to the movies, concerts, and plays. She enjoyed singing, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was an avid collector of dolls and owned an enormous collection of movies.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Haywood and Eva Raby Boone; brother, Myron Towe, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Green.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Willie Ronald Gary; sons Anthony Sr. and Robert Gary; daughter, Valerie (Myron) Walker; grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Kylie, Jasmine, and Quinlan; brother, Bobby Boone; sisters, Corine Windwalker, Rose Johnson, Ruth McDaniel, and Anne Boone; stepbrother, Deron Hill; stepsister, Miriam Hill; brother-in-law, Fulton (Andrea) Gary; sister-in-law, Nydia (Corey) Sonier, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
