Margaret Marie Hart was born on September 16, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the union of Nellie Freeman Thompson and George Woods. She lived her life on her own terms —fearless, unfiltered, and unapologetically herself.
Margaret was never the quiet, reserved type. She was loud, real, and spoke her mind without hesitation. She didn’t hold her tongue for anyone, and whether she was laughing, celebrating, or setting someone straight, you always knew exactly where she stood. She loved to gather with family and friends, enjoying life, sharing stories, cooking, and making memories that will never be forgotten.
She enjoyed her beer and smoking her cigarettes and lived freely and fully. She could cuss you out one moment and love you harder than anyone the next—that was simply who she was. Her love was strong, genuine, and unforgettable.
Margaret was truly one of a kind—bold, vibrant, and full of life. Yet through it all, she carried a profound love for God that remained at the center of her spirit.
She is now reunited in glory with her mother, Nellie Freeman Thompson; father, George Woods; brother Hershel Freeman, beloved son, Clarance Hart; grandsons, Alonzo Saunder and Donta Steward; and great-grandson, Jarmario Freeman.
On April 12, 2026, God called her home, and she received her wings of glory. She leaves to cherish her memory of her loving children: Deborah Saunder; Juanita Freeman Oliver (Willie Oliver); Howard Hart; Kenneth Hart; and Tyrone Hart; along with a host of grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Rest easy, Mama. You were one of a kind.
To Those Whom I Love & Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess
How much you’ve given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear,
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and a ‘Welcome Home’.
Mama, We Love you and we’ll miss you Terribly,
THANK YOU FOR THE YEARS WE HAD TOGETHER.
