It is with great sadness that the family of Margorie Diane Meminger announce her passing on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
Born on July 5, 1943 in Lafayette, Georgia to the parents of James A. and Thelma Green. Margorie was the second of six siblings. Upon graduating from James A. Garfield High in 1061 Margorie worked at the ABC School for unwed mothers as a Social Worker, she then went on to pursue a lucrative career in insurance sales. As a skilled seamstress, Margorie honed her extraordinary talent and creativity to bless the lives of many. Margorie acquired a love for tent camping and shared that love with her younger sisters Tuffy (Tonya) and Wally Patrice and later with nephews Darren, Rahsaan, aka Jim, Daniel and grandson Lance. Her larger than life personality, witty sense of humor and outspokenness allowed her to meet no strangers. Margorie derived great joy spending time with her grandson, Lance, who was the love of her life.
Preceded in death by daughter Paula Diane and parents James and Thelma Green.
Margorie leaves to celebrate her life daughter Nancy Meminger-Randle (Floyd) of Akron, step-daughter Angela Meminger-Bowman (Amiri) of Ashburn, VA; devoted grandson Lance Frank (Myleaka) of Akron; sisters Cassandra L. Warren of Pikesville, MD, C. Faye Downs of Akron, Patrice M. Ashford of Akron, Tonya Y. Davis (Adrian) of Fuquay Varina, NC; brother James A. Green, Jr. of Toledo, OH; adopted daughter Nancy S. Howard of Akron; great grandchildren Summer, Jordyn, Nae’Shaun, Dario and Adonis; best friend Geraldine Jones of Akron and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff of The Heritage at Hudson for their kindness, respect, exceptional care and preservation of dignity shown toward Margorie during her stay. Special thanks to facility Director of Nursing , Ashley Waldron, Activities Director, Samantha Hazelbaker and her loyal German Shepard sidekicks; LPNs Scott and Erin; STNAs Tiffany Burkhouse, Tasha Bell, Dwaan Jefferson, Lisa Fears and Nichole Mahone and Director of Admissions Cindy Brown…you rocked from her admission to her discharge.
