Marie “Cookie” Freeman, loving mother, and grandmother crossed over to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2nd, 2022.
Cookie was born Marie Arnet Harris on March 11th, 1962 to parents John C. Harris and Mary Arlivia Harris (Funderburk) in Cleveland Ohio. Her family moved to the Village of Oakwood where she graduated from Bedford High School in 1980. She married Clyde Freeman in 1982 and resided in New York for a brief period before returning to Ohio to raise her two sons, Richard, and Clyde Freeman. She developed a reputation for being a catalyst for bringing family together. Her favorite hobby was spoiling her grandchildren, Kamarie, Richard, Keylen, D’wan and August. Marie loved her extended family and was selfless in her generosity and sacrifice. She was an active member and energetic organizer at Liverpool Missionary Baptist Church.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Freeman, brother Terry Roy Harris and Mother Mary Arlivia Harris.
She is survived by her father, John C. Harris, brother, John C. Harris, Jr (Angela), Sisters Mary Teresa Harris and Lisa Yvonne Ginn (Jeff) and long-time companion Sam Bigham. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who loved her beyond measure and will miss her deeply.
