Mrs. Marie“Big” Foster was born August 10,
1942 in New Orleans Louisiana to the late James
and Rose Washington.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She met
and married the love of her life Fred B. Foster Sr. They moved to Cleveland Ohio where they
created a loving family. Her love for family was
unprecedented. Big was a lady at all times, and
instilled the same attributes in her children and grandchildren.
She always offered kind words during the
toughest situations in life. Her smile was contagious
and invited many to receive her loving and
nurturing care. Big was happiest when her
home was filled with “FAMILY”. She
fellowshipped at Second Mt. Pisgah Baptist
Church in Cleveland, Ohio and later joined
Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in
Cleveland. “Big” was a dedicated member of her Church and committed her service faithfully to
the Mother’s Board.”
She had a love for so many things; dancing,
traveling, baking and a special heart for BINGO.
She retired from Cleveland State University
where she passionately dedicated thirty five years to culinary.

B. Foster Sr., her parents, James and Rose
Washington, her daughter, Tammy Hill and a
brother, James Washington Jr. she was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother,
great-grandmother and a true friend.
She leaves to cherish her warm memories and
carry her legacy: her children: Aaron (Carolyn)
Foster, Fred (Antaunette) Foster Suyonna Foster (John) all of Cleveland Ohio. Sister Sheryl
(Anthony) Derrow, Federaway Washington,
Richard (Emily) Washington of San Diego Calif, a
sister in law Earnestine Phifer Cleveland, Ohio, Adopted son Mike(Terri) Washington.
Thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews
and other relatives.
