An inquisitive mind and humble soul with flare that was bright enough for anyone to see,
Marion Esther (Brown)Moncrief was born on December 22, 1940 native to Cleveland, Ohio . Marion and her elder sister, Ella (Brown)Marshall were born to Esther Fellows(Brown) a.k.a Honey and James Brown. Notably, Hershel Brown , the second husband of Honey raised the two siblings from youth to adulthood , and was a prominent figure their lives thereafter.
At the age of twelve, Marion humbly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal savior by way of baptism at Liberty Baptist Church.
Marion graduated from John Adams High school and attended Kent State University.
Marion gave birth to her daughter Rhonda “Bunny” and began her journey into motherhood. She later married William “Bill” Moncrief where she gave birth to her second daughter, Stephanie (deceased).
Marion a dedicated mother and provider for her family, developed several career skills over the years and discovered her love for books. Her love for books lead to a career within the acquisitions department at The Cleveland Public Library , Downtown, main campus where she later retired. Shortly after retiring , Marion returned to the workforce as a Department store customer service representative and employee of Shaker Heights Public School district. While working, Marion miraculously found time to tutor youth for Cleveland Public Schools. She later retired for a second time from Shaker Heights Public School District.
Marion often enjoyed Reading , telling hilarious stories whilst sharing wisdom , caring for her only grandson, Larry Jr., and discovering lottery number patterns. Amongst her hobbies she showed great respect and worship for The Lord accompanied with gospel music .
A fun fact about Marion was her love for the late singer/entertainer Selena Quintanilla. She was an avid fan with a collection of books, music, and articles.
